Jace’s phone number might have an Atlanta area code, but his sound is untraceable. You might recognize him from the collective, Two-9, but it’s crucial to throw away all prior conceptions. His psychedelic solo palette stretches far beyond region, genre, or previous crew. He’s as versatile as a Swiss Army knife and equally incisive.“I feel like I’m a combination of all different sub-genres people listen to right now,” Jace says. “I can do trap-related, emotional, autobiographical, everything people want to hear.”
On his first full solo offering, The Jace Tape, he incorporated the entirety of his eclectic streak—that Southern swing, the gritty lyricism of his native New Yorker, and his own emotional vulnerability. It starts with him talking about trying to figure out where he wants to go. It ends with you wondering where he’s going to go next. “I felt like I needed to step away and go out on my own,” Jace says. “Two-9 has its own sound and collective mind. My music is a bit more moody and melodic.” Jace captures the feelings of being trapped and finding your freedom, and reconciling the difficulties of trust. He explores the parts of his past and the pieces of his psyche that other artists might shy away from—balancing it with an unhinged party streak.
Jace has established himself through Two-9, the duo RetroSushi, and song collaborations like RaeSremmurd’s “Unlock the Swag” and “This Could Be Us”. For the last few years Jace has disrupted the industry as a shining writer signed to Sony ATV producing hits like Kash Doll’s “ Ice Me Out” and Glitter Gloss’s “Rich Baby Mama” but his journey as a solo artist doesn’t stop there. Now, Jace is dropping his first single since 2019 titled "Get The Loot" along with his upcoming anticipated EP, Eastside Summer dropping shortly after. Jace excels when he subverts expectations. This upcoming EP is no different. His long-term goal is to “Be one of the most identifiable people in hip-hop,” and that reality starts now.
